Long Vacation

We've been enjoying our vacation for 6 days. Just after our midterm exams on aug.11 & 12, fun started. Intramurals is celebrated in UNP. But the BS Accountancy II-A students are supposed to attend classes in accounting. We received a news. On friday, we'll be having a QUIZ on AR. That's it, 7-day vacation is already that long vacation. Although, boredom almost killed me softly while I stayed inside the house.

Graduation

Fourteen days from now, things will never be the same again.
I’ll never be finding myself chatting with my friends inside the classroom. Observing our teachers’ most frequently used phrases. Roaming around the campus or a survey. Staying until evening to inish a work. Camping and hiking with the Girl Scouts and Boy scouts. Having our training under the heat o the sun. Taking photos under the rain.
Because fourteen days from now, I will be saying my good byes to my Alma Mater. To my teachers, to the non-teaching staff of our school, to my friends, the BBF eventhough I am not an official member of the group, classmates and schoolmates.
I will miss them all. In my heartm they have been very special. The ones who complete every second o my life.
April 4, 2009. Surely, it will be one of the most memorable days o my life. A day which will end our laughters and tears. Yet, will be the beginning of a new book.
I don’t want to graduate yet. I want to hold tight o the things that make me happy. But as my friend once said, “Learn to let go.”
Lie is ironic. I had always dreamed of a graduation. But while that day is approaching, I can’t help myself but to cry.

Windows Movie Maker: Ready to Explore?

During this Fourth Grading Period, I had again an unforgettable experiences in our ICT IV. we learned to use the Windows Movie Maker more professionaly. It is very likely with the MS Powerpoint. Only, here we are trying to make movies. While the powerpoint is designed for presentation purposes. In Move Maker, we could import images, video, audio or music and others. We could also add transitions, effects and titles for a better project. At first, we were assigned to make a group project, the videoke and the second one is the personal movie. This experience thought me to choose the best song and images. And to be a good critic in that matter.

Definitely, this experience was not good at all. There was a time when we forgot to click the save button and so it hanged up. The activity was also time consuming because we needed to add the lyrics of the song we chose because we made sure they appear on the proper time they're supposed to be.

We tried doing something for this. When it hanged up, we click the restarr button and waited 'tilll it recovers again. We also tried to be more patient and encoded the lyrics, making sure it fits the song being played. Every after five minutes, we were saving what we've done to avoid hanging up of the computer.

Moving on, I will try to explore the software further and to make a good project in the future.

A Day That Was

February 13, 2009. Friday the 13th. A day of bad luck for some believers. But still, that was a day that the Juniors and Seniors of ISNHS had the very much awaited JS Promenade. From this, I learned a lot. Eventhough the breeze of air outside was cold, inside the gymnasium was very hot, occupying girls transformed into ladies, and boys into men, who were dressed at their best. I believe that we are not only supposed to be mentally healthy but also to be socially and emotionally developed, too. I learned to deal with other people and never rejected them as long as they show me some respect. From that experience, I also received five bouquet and one card from a friend.

Tha JSP would have been perfect for me if only Almira did not get allergic with her dress. So I was picked as one of the contestants for the Search. My problem also was, I joined the Promenade, Grand March and Cottillion. So I got tired easily because I was not get to used my high-heeled sandals. I was also shocked when the lights were turned off and couples grabbed the chance to do the kissing and hugging thing. The time was very short also to enjoy the night being with our friends.

But these problems were nothing compared to the experiences and enjoyment I had. When I joined the Search, I thought of nothing but my classmates only staring at me inside our classroom as if I am answering a teacher's question just to lessen my nervousness. During the Lasies' Choice, I took a rest. And bera in mind that we didi not properli behaved so we really did not deserve an extension of time.

The Promenade ended succesfully, yet we Seniors will still be having the Seniors-Faculty Ball so I will have the chance again to deal with others through a social gathering.

Mind Twister 3

For the third time, we had the Third Periodical Test at Ilocos Sur National High School for the completion of our grades. Another experience where I've learned to be patient and serious. Before taking the examinations last January 19 and 20, I reviewed my lessons so I could get high grades. And when that day came, I was a little bit nervous. I had to take them seriously. I answered the questions alone. I did not copy my seatmates answers. Because I know, I would feel better if I get high scores for did somwthing about it than getting high but excelled less effort.

During the exams, there are problems I met. The time given to us in answering the questions is not enough. Especially in our ICT IV wherein we were instructed to rewrite the texts in the internet and add the html tags to be seen in the notepad. I also felt tired in just sitting and answering the questions. We did not had our recess because it was the choice of the majority. But still, I felt hungry at around 3:00 in the afternoon. By the way, we had our exams in the afternoon. It's okay because there's no need for me to wake up early. The problem is, I'm not used to reviewing in the morning.

Fortunately, I was able to overcome these problems by being patient. I waited 'till we finish all our exams before having a break. I answered the questions as fast as I could accurately. I guessed but not blindly. I tried to review my lessons at night so I would do nothing in 5the morning but to refreshmy mind.

Moving on, I will try to be more serious in my studies. I will not study har.. Rather, I will study smart. Our future world depends on how we handle life. Go with the flow but never too slow.

Exercise 8, 9, 10.. Blog!

While we study further about html, my knowledge about it goes wider especially when we had our exercise 8, 9 and 10 in our ICT IV. I have learned on how to change the font size andfont face of the texts using the notepad. Also on how to insert pictures and link them to my other works. these experiences thought me a lot and exercised my mind in facing the world of HTML.

During these Third Grading Period, we had so many school activities. The reason why sometimes, we were not able to have our class. The other sections taking up ICT IV had gone further than us. Our knowledge is still inadequate for broader challenges and ideas about it. We had so many exercises but explanations are not being balanced with it. We are also lacking time and computer units. We still had to wait for the other students to finish theirs before we could use them.

But of course, these are only light problems. I was able to solve them by self-studying and surfing the net for more informations. I also used my free time in doing some of my assignments like writing our drafts. Everytime I use the unit, I am working as fats as I can so I could finish more exercises.

Moving on, I will broaden my knowledge about HTMLand study the best that I can. I will also participate well during discussions and in any activities in connection to HTML to enhance my technological ability whether inside and outside the school. As I go further, I hope to encounter more challenging activities about it.

An Awesome Christmas Vacation

One morning I woke up hugging my pillow tightly and wearing all the smiles because I had nothing to worry about. No assignments, no seatworks, no terrific things to meet. At last, the most awaited christmas vacation had come!

Our family was busy preparing for the arrival of the other members who would be spending their christmas vacation here in Ilocos. We were one in doing something to feel the spirit of the born of Jesus Christ.

Almost all of my days were spent playing and talking to my relatives as we exchanged stories and ideas. We often watch tv and play cards for recreation.

Last December 23, I went to school for a meeting then afterwards attended Reimark's birthday. there I have learned the game sungka and I played it for the first time.

The next day at 10:00 pm, we attended an anticipated mass and had a noche buena afterwards. And on Christmas Day, we went to our relatives' house, and had our aginaldo. We were very happy while we crack jokes in each of the houses in our compound.

The way we welcomed 2009 was even been more exciting. The environment was filled with new things. Removing away the shadows of the year 2008! The table was full of different delicacies, fresh, delicious and colorful foods that were used to symbolize prosperity. We went house by house. Such advantage because almost all our neighbors are our relatives.

But after an awesome celebration, things must go back to normal. Our relatives went bak to where they came from. Some in Nueva Ecija, some in Manila, and in Candon. But one thing is for sure. I will never forget this christmas. They are treasurable memories, I will cherish them.

My 6th and 7th Exercise on HTML

Editing our first activity on HTML by adding background color and image is what we did in our Exercise 6 and 7 which are the first two activities for the 3rd grading period. For me, I've applied light blue for my background color and blue hills for the background image.

These activities are easy, yet, I met a problem in doing it because I can't apply the color and image I want to. The colors I wanted were somewhat dark, like brown, so I needed to try on other colors that would fit to my activity. Which, the texts are still visible and easily readable even with the presence of image and color.

But I was able to overcome it because I tried chosing the light colors for my reader's satisfaction. I also asked for the suggestions and recommendations of my classmates to make my activity still nice and clean to see.

Moving on, I will have more explorations about HTML especially adding some simple effects. I will also study harder to have better grade and to add my knowledge about ICT. This is our last school year in high school so I will also try to enjoy studying and learning with my schoolmates. And to prepare myself for another step to make.

b-r-e-a-k.have fun reading it

We, the ISNHS students were given the chance to have our semestrial break inorder for us to give our exhausted bodies, a rest.

On October 24, as a part of our break, we had the BSP School Camporal. Eventhough I was the only girl scout, I really enjoyed the camp because it's nice to mingle with boys and with some of the teachers.

During the camp, we had a lot of fun. Especially when we played the 'improvised basketball' wherein each patrol guarded their ring (a wheel) so the other patrol would not be able to shoot the ball in ours.

And during our last night, we had a campfire and a presentation. We also had our story-telling and talking time before sleeping at night. And the silence of the night was filled with our laughters.

After the camp, I immediately attended the 'Adopt-a-Child' activity being held in the centennial gym on October 26.

On October 28-30, we had a seminar on Campus Journalism. There were lectures, workshops, and other trainings regarding writing.

October 31, November 1 and 2, I did nothing but to rest. Wake-up at 9:00am, eat, watch TV, eat, then sleep. Wake-up again at 1:00pm, have my lunch, have some recreational ativities, eat, then sleep. Wake-up again at 6:00pm, watch, eat, then sleep. The usual things I do when I am inside our house.

I did not go to the cemetery because when my family went there, I was sleeping. And as a matter of fact, I was lazy too.

That was the way I spent the Semestrial Break.

2nd Quarter-Language

"Life is either a daring adventure or nothing."

The end of the First Quarter was then then start of our Second Grading Period- newchallenges & adventures. During the Second Quarter, I have already learned the basics of HTML or Hypertex Markup language in our ICT IV. That it contains small markup tags which tells the browser how to display the pages. Tag is the basic coding unit in the HTML System, and W3C is the rule making body of the web. Also, that the most essential Web Standards are the HTML, CSS or Cascading Style Sheet and the XML. The XHTML1.0 is the latest HTML standards which are being used by the 3G Phones. Notepad and Simple Text from the Microsoft Windows and Macintosh respectively, are the HTML editors. Also, there are 2 kinds of tag, the Stand Alone Tag and the Container Tag-which always comes in pair, the start and the end tag. While the element content is the text between the tags.We were also told that an HTML document is composed of a file name and an extension name- htm and exer1.htm is an example. In our TLE IV, we have also done two activities using the Notepad, and had finished one quiz. Learning those things is not that easy. Especially when I was trying to understand the language of my adventure, I also met problems. Like the fact that we only have our ICT IV three times a week, and our teacher was out of the school for one week so our discussion was a little bit delayed eventhough she gave us something to do

Well, they are just simple problems anyway, and I do not need to excel that much effort to solve them because they are natural problems- I can't do anything about it. By just sharing my opinion and thoughts, emotionally speaking, I have already solved them. And I believe frankly telling someone that I hate him and that he's only wasting our time, would be very impractical so I'll just wait for the end of that 'thing'.

Moving on, I can't promise that I will do something to improve my grades but I will try to enjoy every single moment of my remaining days of my high school life and to make ICT IV as colorful as the possibilities it can give me. And I hope too, that the Language it gave me this Second Quarter will continue being developed as I go on with the flow.

take time.. to memorize..

Tests. Examinations. Whatever we may call them, for me, they only mean the same, and I have but one word to describe these things- CALVARY. I really hate to memorize but because of the First Periodical Test, I learned to get used of reviewing my lessons to be ready in answering questions that might show-up during the exams. I admit that I am a talkative person, so another good thing that I consider a learning j talking to no one while taking the tests, because our adviser was more strict in observing us that time compared to our regular classes. And I'm proud of telling everyone that I was able to think, even without talking. unlike the Periodical Test, I did not give that much importance to the NCAE, because I found out the objective of this and that it will not affect my grades. however, I still had my learnings from the NCAE. One of these is that, while going on with the test, I found out my strengths and weaknesses in the different fields of education.

During these times, I felt uncomfortable thinking that there is something bothering me. Whenever I tried to read my notes, I always fall asleep. And when I woke up, I would fine my notebooks beside me, or sometimes, on the floor (they might had fallen from my bed). Another problem was when I had my PT in the afternoon, I went to school late. Good for me, they did not yet start taking the exam when I reached the room. During the NCAE, my problem was, the examiner in the other room talked loudly and I easily heard his voice because I was seated near the window.
"Relax". I just said to myself. Because if I let my problems disturd my confidence, it might have ruined my grades. I tried my best not to talk to anyone during the duration of the examinations, and so it worked. For the examiner in the other room, I just ignored his loud voice and go on with the test. But the best proof that I was able to overcome my problems is the result of my examinations.
We had just finished First Grading Period, not the Fourth. So I still have much time to further improve my strengths and weaknesses. Talking has been my nature, but as I go on, I wish I will find out the proper way of using, this gift? I'll be more serious in taking exams. And find time to memorize (eventhough I really hate doing it).

Learnings Outside ICT IV

One of my passions in life is to search for knowledge and so I consider myself blessed for I learn new things from my environment. If I am to tell you all my learnings outside ICT IV, it will take a long time for youto read them. So I just prefer sharing you the most important and the interesting ones. You know, I'm a kind of person who do things not for the sake of recognition but for enjoyment, happiness, pleasure and for knowledge. Our school celebrated the Nutrition Month and during the said celebration, I joined the Food Festival-- and that was a very unforgettable because eventhough I hate cooking, that was the first time that I wore an apron, and sold nutritious foods for money. from that activity, Ilearned to have patient to please our costumers, and that it's nice to try doing the things you hate. During the first day of our class, I was shocked when I found out that some of my classmates were already demoted to the other sections. But I learned to let go of them. I accepted the fact that we are only human-- we're free to dream of having all the things we want, but we cannot make all our dreams come into reality. My former classmates, when they went out, that was also the time that new friends entered my life. And I'm glad having them because they are already one of those who play as my friends and molders in this life. In fulfilling my duties and responsibilities, I had also learned the essence of being a real leader.
But behind these learnings is the fact that I had also encountered many problems. If before I usually sleep at 9:00pm, now that I am in the fourth year high school, I already sleep at midnight. Twenty-four hours a day is not enough for me to accomplish the things I should. there were also times that I was not feeling well, yet I still have to work for my studies. And I consider this as the worst problem I had encountered in my journey of learning.
Having no problems in life would mean abnormal. So everytime I meet problems, I face them. Eventhough sometimes I'm almost giving up. But what are friends for, right? I usually ask their advice and consider them weapons. With this, I believe Ican solve all my problems.
Moving on, I will let my curiousity discover the things beyond knowledge and intellect.
